This special CTIA report on wireless usage in the U.S. tracks total billable calls and minutes of use and analyzes the overall trend in wireless subscribership and usage.
The report includes the growth rates for total reported local and roaming minutes, and the average length of local and roaming calls. In addition, the report provides the basis for call trends for local and roaming, monthly MOU and messaging usage on a per-subscriber basis, as well as total SMS/text and MMS traffic volumes, and MB of data traffic.
This special CTIA report is based on CTIA’s semi-annual survey, which has been conducted since January 1985, and focuses on wireless usage trends for the period 1991 through mid-year 2011, including MOU and call trends, text messaging / SMS and MMS trends from 2005 through mid-year 2011, and total MB of data volumes for the most recent survey periods.
